How to Give

WHY CHURCH?

If I believe in God and pray at home, why do I need to go to church?

Believing that God exists is a beginning, but how can we truly know someone we never take the time to listen to? Many of us pray by thanking God, asking Him to protect us, and hoping He continues to look out for us. But what if God has something to say to you? What if He has a plan for your day, an answer to a question you've been carrying, or an opportunity for you to be a blessing to someone else? How would you recognize His direction if you haven't learned to recognize His voice?

We come to church to learn who God is, understand His Word, and grow in our relationship with Him.

The Bible is not simply a collection of stories or rules. Through Scripture, we learn God's character, His promises, His instructions, and His purpose for our lives. Biblical teaching helps us understand what the Scriptures mean and how to apply them in everyday situations. Prayer should not be a one-way conversation in which we only tell God what we want. We also need to make room to hear from Him and learn to follow His direction.

Why gather with other believers when we can worship and pray at home?

Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20, KJV)

Personal prayer and worship are important, but God also calls us into fellowship with one another. The disciples gathered together in one accord when they received the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. They did not simply believe that Jesus existed; they followed Him, waited on His promise, and received the power of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that through faith in Jesus Christ, we can receive the Holy Spirit, who helps us understand God's Word, guides us in truth, and empowers us to live according to His will. We gather to worship, pray, learn, encourage one another, and grow together in our walk with God.

Why do we sing, worship, and listen to sermons?

Praise and worship are not about whether the music sounds like what we listen to at home or whether a singer gives the best performance. We sing because God is worthy of our praise. We worship the One who created us, loves us, provides for us, corrects us, and offers us a peace and joy that the world cannot give.

A good song or an impressive sermon cannot save us. It is God who changes hearts through His Spirit. The purpose of biblical preaching is to help us understand His Word, recognize His truth, and learn how to live it—not simply to leave feeling entertained or inspired for a few hours.

Come because you want to know the God you believe in.

If you've ever wondered whether there is more to faith than believing God exists, saying a prayer when you need help, or attending a service on special occasions, we invite you to come and discover what it means to build a relationship with Him.

This is the direction I would use for the website: explain the purpose before listing the activities. The music, preaching, Bible study, prayer, and fellowship all have a reason for being there. Your original explanation connects them to the relationship with God that you want visitors to understand.

I would also keep this section prominent rather than hiding it in an FAQ. It's the central message you want people to encounter when they visit the website—not a minor detail under “What to Expect.”
